Piggybacks

A filter-regulator, often referred to as a “piggyback,” seamlessly integrates the essential functions of both a filter and a regulator into a single, compact unit. This design is particularly advantageous in situations where space is limited, making piggybacks an ideal choice for various applications.

Additionally, these versatile devices can be customized to meet specific needs. They can be ordered with a variety of filter elements to suit different filtration requirements. Furthermore, piggybacks can also be modified with different springs, allowing for precise adjustments in air regulating capabilities based on the unique demands of your system or project.

Filters

ARO-Flo compressed air filters are expertly engineered to effectively eliminate airborne solid and liquid contaminants from your compressed air systems. These high-performance filters can be customized to meet your specific needs, as they are available with a variety of filter elements.

Among these options are coalescing models, which are particularly adept at removing oil aerosols and particles as small as 0.3 microns, ensuring that your air supply remains clean and efficient.

For standard applications, filters are typically sold with 5-micron elements, providing a solid level of filtration. Additionally, if you require a coarser filtration option, 40-micron elements can be conveniently purchased and installed separately, allowing for greater flexibility in your filtration system.

Regulators

Air line regulators play a crucial role in ensuring that pneumatic equipment connected to an air system receives a controlled and consistent air pressure, which is essential for optimal performance.

All ARO-Flo regulators are designed with a standard adjustment range of 0-140 psig (0-9.6 bar), making them versatile for several applications. Alternative spring ranges are available. This offers easy conversion to meet different operational requirements and pressures. This adaptability ensures that users can find the perfect fit for their specific needs.

Furthermore, non-relieving regulators are also available for specialized applications where the venting of downstream overpressure is not desirable. This feature is important in scenarios where maintaining pressure integrity is critical, ensuring that your pneumatic systems operate smoothly and efficiently without any unwanted pressure fluctuations.

Lubricators

ARO-Flo mist-type lubricators play a crucial role in ensuring that pneumatic devices receive the essential lubrication they need to operate at peak performance levels. By providing the right amount of oil, these lubricators significantly reduce wear and tear on components, ultimately prolonging the service life of the equipment.

Specifically designed to cater to most general applications within a pneumatic system, ARO-Flo lubricators deliver a consistent and reliable ratio of oil to airflow, which is vital for optimal functioning.

One of the standout features of these lubricators is the precise oil feed adjustment. Oil feed adjustment helps users set the oil drip rate according to their specific requirements.

This level of customization ensures that each application receives the exact lubrication it needs. For maximum effectiveness, it is recommended that lubricators be installed close to the downstream application. This strategic placement guarantees the efficient and effective distribution of oil, enhancing the overall performance and reliability of the pneumatic system.

Safety

ARO-Flo Series FRLs are designed with integrated safety features, such as locking bowls and clear multilingual markings. Accessories such as lockout valves, check valves, and soft-start valves allow the air supply to be safely managed and controlled.

ARO attests that the ARO-Flo Series of filters, regulators, lubricators (1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 Series), and select accessories are out of scope for ATEX Directive 94/9/EEC or 2014/34/EU. Instruction Manuals and certificates regarding ATEX Declaration can be found here.

Modularity

All ARO-Flo accessories are designed to integrate with each other within each size range. From pipe adapters to T-brackets, your complete FRL assembly and its individual components can be easily, safely, and quickly assembled or disassembled with a minimum of tools — no fuss or complications, even with fixed piping.

Performance

ARO-Flo Series FRLs set the standard for flow performance. Simply put, air flows better through ARO-Flo filters, regulators, and lubricators than almost any other air filtration device. This means less air is choked during the air preparation process, and your equipment performs at its peak.

Installation

The FRL should be installed in the order shown in the illustration below.

If a coalescing filter is required, it should be installed downstream from a standard filter. Individual take-off lines to the FRL and air tool or equipment should be from the top of the compressed air line.

Make sure that air flow markings are followed for proper flow direction through the FRL units.

To trap and expel water, sludge, and other contaminants that may collect on the bottom of the air line, a drip leg drain should be used. Drip leg drains should be installed at low points in the piping system and at the far end of the distribution system.
